Malabrigo Yarn Merino Worsted [100% handspun merino; 210yd/192m per 100g skein]; color: Cactus flower; 1 skein

# 16-inch US #9/5.5mm circular needle

16 sts/24 rows = 4″ in stockinette stitch

Note: This pattern is worked in the round, and exact gauge is not essential. The simple stitch pattern means that you don’t have to stick to a solid yarn, use that cherished skein of hand painted worsted you’ve been saving for something special. Or, use a double strand of that sock yarn you’ve been meaning to get out of your stash!

Using circular needle, loosely CO 75 sts. Place marker and join to begin working in the round, being careful not to twist.

Rounds 1-10: Knit.

Rounds 11-15: Purl.

Rounds 16-20: Knit.

Rounds 21-25: Purl.

Rounds 26-30: Knit.

Rounds 31-35: Purl.

Rounds 36-40: Knit.

Rounds 41-45: Purl.

Rounds 46-54: Knit.

Round 55: Remove marker. Bind off loosely.

Weave in ends. This can be worn without blocking but the ends will curl up more. If you would like to block, do so lightly.

I am a beginner knitter and this was a perfect pattern for me to try so I could do the knit and the purl stitches in the same pattern/piece. To make it not as tight and a little looser on my neck, we casted on 100 stitches instead of 75. It came out beautiful!! Thank you.
